Rot, Rain, and a Fresh Start for a Joplin Home

This homeowner near Momentum Bike Park had been putting off exterior work for a while — and the wood showed it. The fence boards were rotting out at the base, the fascia and soffit had sections that were soft to the touch, and the deck was overdue for both structural attention and a fresh stain. The plan coming in was to repair what we could, replace what we couldn't, and follow it all up with a full exterior paint and deck stain.

Once we started pulling things apart, we found more rotten wood than the initial walkthrough had turned up — which is pretty common on jobs like this. We took care of all of it rather than paint over a problem. Scheduling had to flex around a stretch of rainy weather, and at one point the wind got the better of our plastic sheeting and we ended up with paint overspray on the driveway. We pressure washed it clean the same day and made sure we left the property in better shape than we found it.

The finished result was a completely transformed exterior — tight fence, clean lines on the fascia and soffit, a solid and freshly stained deck, and a paint job that ties it all together. The homeowner was thrilled with how it turned out. He doesn't have a review up yet, but he gifted Blake a hand-painted lion as a thank-you — which now has a place of honor in the shop.
